15 JANUARY 2009
Guess it was around 15 to 20 degrees when MADDIE and I got there around 4:30. AMY was there with LOLA. JOEY the young corgi girl was there. *** OH ! Seems AMY may have found a job. Pays less than her old job, and there's a commute but she seems really upbeat about it. JOEY & LOLA & MADDIE played around, seem to be liking the cold. AMY told me PAULA was leaving with ISABELLA & SAMBUCCA when she arrived, and that BRIAN and MONTY had been there.HUDSON/ the young chocolate lab with his effortless bonhomie & casual power arrived , and got the three girls going : especially little JOEY. Sooner than usual, it just got TOO cold for everyone, and HUDSON/ the young chocolate lab with his effortless bonhomie & casual power arrived , and got the three girls going : especially little JOEY. Sooner than usual, everyone was just too cold, and MADDIE & I were there alone : waiting to see if there would be a second shift. We practiced MADDIE'S new obsession : the art of spectacular ball catches. She actually made a few pretty good catches somewhat in the MONTY style. It was just about dark, when the 2nd shift arrived, consisting only of BLACKJACK and DAVE. Turns out that this was really great, really special for MADDIE & BLACKJACK 'cause I'm pretty sure that, just by coincidence, they had never gotten to just play alone in the park. So they were -like- just in heaven : romping, chasing, rolling in the snow, making googly eyes at each other : lots of up on hind legs battling. Too dark for any good pics. Dave and I yapped like two urban corner dwellers on a sub zero bender for maybe 40 minutes. Toes numb, it was time . Even colder tomorrow they say. " Whose park this is I think I know..."
