MADDIE & I were at the park early 'cause I had to pick Cathy up at the train station around 3:00 or 4:00. PAM, PAULA, CYNTHIA of the new boy ATTICUS the westie. ELVIS the newish puggle showed up and got all the dogs going. MADDIE wrestled a lot with JET. But the biggest story was that ESTELLE arrived: not with MAXIE but with another wee spitfire. Sad news : MAXIE had passed away a few days ago. He was 15, and after McDUFF left us recently at the age of 18, MAXIE was the park's oldest dog. ESTELLE said it was sudden; he just keeled over in the kitchen, no pain or any discomfort at all. I'll post the tribute he deserves soon. So... ESTELLE gets this eight year old recent rescue from the BRIARCLIFF SHELTER. They had just found him wondering the streets of PEEKSKILL, all filthy and fur tangled. VOILA ! here he is ! Just like that. ESTELLE says that she's not all that good with names so she just named him... uh huh, yep: " MAXIE." She's says, "What's the difference. He doesn't know." Right away the little guy jumps into the social whirl of the park. Meeting and greeting and chasing and exploring. He's got this great lion like hair style and seems to have a heart to match. ESTELLE should have some kind of breed named after her based on the ratio of size to spirit: The Northeastern Miniature Estelle.
