Barni Maddie memories
Barni: the hollywood-when-was-hollywood starlet of the group of five dogs know simply as The Girls. Barni, Maddie, Lucy, Buffy, and Divot. Barni with perhaps the most sultry eyes of any dog at The park, and her 1930's harlowesque grace .Barni and Maddie who comprise the best comic dua of the five. Think Thelma and Luise only the original starring : Barbara Stanwyck and jean harlow , written and directed by Preston Sturges. There friendship goes back to the earliest days of Maddie's arrival at The Park. To watch Maddie sidle up to Barni with her backlit strings and shadows falling around her like satin robes, and provoke her and bother and toy with her till the big smile starts to tremble across Barni's lips then the big wide open gush of laughter till her eyes crinkle shut with total abandonment to the complete and utter hilarity of it all. But at other times when no one is looking, and too fast for the human eye to notice but the camera sometimes captures it : the look of unabashed love, the adoring gaze, the importance of the bond and devotion they have for each other: flash! and then they're back to being comic genius. Clowns in a circus all of their own. Barni.... and maddie.
