Shamus got his Champion status before coming to Dave & Kerin, and our park. He was out of a Basenji Kennel called Eldorado , hence his name was officially : Eldorado's Echo Of Africa. For some reason, he also had a more reasonable name : Shombay. D. & K. didn't want to confuse him with too much of a name change - so : Shamus, as we know him. A sort of Celtic African dog. Afro-Celt. Word is that his brother Eldorado's ICON of Africa is a big dog show star. HAH !
